Each course is designed to teach the fundamentals of one position in the restaurant business. The curriculum is aimed at new people with no experience and young people already working in the industry that have had no formal training. It will also appeal to unemployed individuals who are refocusing their employment goals. The participants will gain the skills and confidence to be effective right away, and will be able to approach customers properly and courteously. They will learn the step-by-step procedures for understanding and learning appropriate skills for a front-of-the–house restaurant job.

RESTAURANT SERVER

COURSE SYNOPSIS: It is a course that explores the job of a server. Well-trained, proficient servers are always in demand. The course flows in a logical sequence, step-by-step practical procedures for understanding and learning server skills. You will learn dining room etiquette; table settings; proper handling of silverware, glassware, and tableware; taking an order accurately; guest communication; wine and food terminology; how to handle complaints professionally; service timing and priorities; and beverage service. Serving can be an excellent, lucrative full-time job or work well as supplementary evening / weekend employment. A certificate of achievement will be issued after completion of the course. Empress your employer with a relevant certificate demonstrating the skills and knowledge that you have learned. You get a note pad, a pen, a waiter corkscrew, and reference materials.

BUS PERSON

COURSE SYNOPSIS:  There is more to a bus person’s job than just cleaning tables. They communicate with and assist food servers to maintain efficient service and ensure guest satisfaction. This course provides instruction, training, and the skills required for entry-level employment in the hospitality industry. The hands-on training will give you confidence and the competitive edge for seeking work. Learn skills such as people and communication skills, manual dexterity, teamwork and time management, which can serve you in a range of other jobs as well. A certificate of achievement will be issued after completion of the course. Empress your employer with a relevant certificate demonstrating the skills and knowledge that you have learned.

We require a minimum of 5 people for the course to take.  A maximum of 10 people per course for better learning.

WINE 101 – AN INTRODUCTION

COURSE SYNOPSIS: A world of passion and pleasure. A relax and unpretentious approach to wine education. For novice wine lovers who wish to know more about the subject, and want to learn the ABC of wine tasting. the identity of a wine is dependent on the grape variety, climate, viticulture, and wine making methods. You will get a wealth of practical information that will help you navigate the world of wine in confidence. Wine tasting, cheese, bread, and notes included. Everyone will receive a waiter corkscrew.  A certificate of completion will be issued after completion of the course. You could win a door price - Hugh Johnson, Jancis Robinson, 'The World Atlas of Wine'  fifth edition  book ($45 value). Empress your employer with a relevant certificate demonstrating the wine knowledge that you have acquired.
